Impose a term limit of no more than 2 terms on members of the House of Delegates. This will have a dual benefit of encouraging people to take part in our political process and ensuring that new and fresh ideas and perspectives are continually injected into the state government.

Term limits give power to lobbyists
Legislating is difficult stuff. There are thousands of issues that come up and a legislator who doesn't know the details ends up having to get his or her information from industry sources. I would like them to be able to get more knowledgeable.
Term Limits
Totally agree!!
We send good people to Richmond every election and they become corrupted by the system. I don't buy the arguement that it takes time to "learn the system." The capitol learning curve is more than offset by the capital lobotomy.
What we need is business people, homemakers, retired folks, attorneys, etc., that will go to Richmond and serve their community and THEN GO BACK HOME. We need people that know what it is to make hard choices and live within their means.
Professional politicians that are continually campaigning and raising money are the problem.
I don't hear anyone complaining about term limits for the governor.
Please contact your state senator and delegate and encourage them to introduce a term limits bill. I did.
