Could we consider having 10 second mini spots run hourly on all mediums to (re) educate the public and especially the foreign community what the proper rules of driving in this country are.  And while I am on this topic how about eliminating reciprocity for foreign drivers with an international license and make everyone take a test before operating a motor vehicle on our roads.  As to my original thought it should have a fantastic impact on statewide safety records and reduce loss of property and lives.

While I listen on the radio about Virginia's Budget cuts I sat in traffic at the HRBT for over 2 hours last night. I did not make it through the tunnel until nearly 12:30 AM. The whole backup was due to VDOT cleaning the tunnel. If we are in such difficult times, why are we cleaning the tunnel. I could see cleaning the road surface to eliminate oil deposits, but the ceiling? I got an email from my university saying that due to the state budget cuts, an annual geology/earth sciences trip has been canceled. Let me get this straight? We have to cut education so our tunnels can be shiny?

Impose a term limit of no more than 2 terms on members of the House of Delegates.  This will have a dual benefit of encouraging people to take part in our political process and ensuring that new and fresh ideas and perspectives are continually injected into the state government.

So here's my solution to the Illegal Immigration problem in the state of Virginia and the United States as a whole.

Step 1: Offer a 6 month amnesty period to illegal immigrants, allowing them to complete an accelerated U.S. citizenship program during this time leading to legal status.

Step 2: After the 6 month amnesty period passes, any business that is caught willfully employing illegal immigrants will be fined 75% of their net revenue for the year.

Use only one license tag on vehicles.

The Florida Department of Social Services has a centralized agency that is used to process applications for benefits such as SNAP (Food Stamps), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and other benefit services.

The state should take another look at or re-tool the SWAM policy. These vendors, when competing on prices, should be within $5 to $10, no more. Not $20 to $50 more. But ,because they are SWAM vendors state agencies have to purchase from them. Why can't state departments or agencies make purchases for items at the lowest prices? This could save thousands of dollars.
